No calendar service

When opening another users calendar for the first time, Notes 8.0.2 says “No Help-About document is available for this application”. After having clicked OK, the screen displays a blank page with the text “No calendar service” and a “Reload” button. Pressing reload it refreshes and displays the users calendar.

Is there any way that Notes could open the calendar without the user having to press reload?

Subject: Add a help about doc to that mail file

I have seen the error you report and indeed the file (calendar) I was trying to open did not have a help about doc. Adding one (cut and paste in designer client) from my mail to that mail file solved it. Is it annoying? Yes.

Could you call it a bug? I don’t know. Some would, some would not.
