New Web Service crashes Designer

When I click the “New Web Service” button or “Create/Design/Web Service” menu option, Notes crashes with the error:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error

C:\Program Files\Notes_7\NLNOTES.EXE

The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application’s support team for more information"

This happens consistantly. Everything else in Designer is working OK.

Has anybody seen this before ? Any ideas how to fix it ?

FYI the cause seemed to be the Java 1.5.0 JRE. Reverting to 1.4.2 solved the problem. Can you guys at Lotus reproduce this problem ??

thank you very much, the problem is the solution to reinstall version 1.4.2 on the JRE

I have JRE 1.5 installed in my Windows 2000 system. I have 7.0 Notes installed.

Click the “New Web Service” button,

The Designer client does not crash. Create some new web services, save and close these web services without any

problem occurs.

Also try “Create/Design/Web Service” menu option,
