New User Not Authorized to Access Server

I have a user that I had created but was receiving errors that they were not authorized to use the server. I removed the user, removed them from the Deny Access group, removed their mail file, and went through every single one of my Domino servers (I have 6) to verify the same thing was applied across the board. I even went into the Administration Requests and removed all entries with her name.

I recreate her from scratch and she is able to login to webmail but not to her Lotus Notes Client. I created a different new user and it’s right as rain…

I don’t even know where to look at this point.

Subject: try these

“sh nlcache reset” on domino console

use the “find user” feature of the admin client to locate the user in the domain. this will issue an adminp request to find where the user might be listed that could be causing the issue. you will need to check the adminp request for the results.

Subject: Try re-indexing

I saw a similar issue at a customer, and the clue here is that they can get in via their web client but not Notes.

Try reindexing the address book (you know, the infamous routine).

Even though we’d removed the person from the Denied Access Group, that group membership was apparently cached.

Soon as we did that, they were able to access.

PS: Be sure you re-index on the users’ home server.

Subject: i guess she…

  • is in no group in the “Access this Server” Field in the Server Security Tab, so she has no access with the Notes Client but still has access via web to her Mailfile if the Server Security is set on default.

  • on her User Profile in the Admin Tab ID File is Locked is selected

as access to her Mailfile.
