New spin on multiple POP account dilemna

I’ve seen the problem addressed here already, but I have a new aspect I am trying to address.

I want to use Notes to access multiple POP accounts on the same server, BUT I am using Popfile as a spam filter. Popfile uses the localhost (127.0.0.1) as the POP server address for the email client, similar to NAV.

I tried 127.0.0.1 for the first account, then 127.0.0.1:8080 (the operating port for popfile) on subsequent accounts, hoping the different server address listing would get around the limitation, but it doesn’t seem to take to it.

Anyone know the best way to work around the Notes POP acount limitation in this situation, where the server IS an address? Altering the lmhosts file, perhaps? If so, what would be the cleanest configuration?

I may be missing the point, but what I do at home is to set up a separate location and account doc for each account. That way I can switch between different accounts at my ISP.

I was hoping to avoid that scenario. It seems like a lot of work every time to retrieve email, as opposed to just retrieving/replicating in one smooth operation. I guess I’ll stick with Outlook and spend my time keeping my antivirus up to date, which I would do anyway. Unfortunate that Notes is so POP un-friendly.
