We have moved almost 3400 user from Domino 7.x to Domino 8.5 mail servers,“2”, we have two problems.
-
User that has their name change the adminp process is moving the mail file to the new mail server. I have to manually replicate their mail file and update their person doc.
-
These same users are not getting the server change in their home mail server in their Names.nsf
Question is, does anyone has a script that I can send to these users find & replace the old mail server for the new server.
Thanks
Subject: RE: Name change
Is the mail server changing in the Domino Directory but not in the local Name and Address Book? Have the user’s logged on. If you haven’t done so already, do the following on both servers consoles: tell adminp process all. If that fails to kick things off, then I have scrip for fixing location documents.

I have done that…
if you could, can you send me the script to Carlos.Hernandez@ccsmed.com or Karloshern@gmail.com
Thanks
Subject: Sound a bit like a replication problem …
Can you describe the replication topology between the Administration Server, the Source mail server and the target mail server?
Adminp requires scheduled replication to populate the target mail database. If you are assuming that cluster replication is sufficient, then this might be the problem. Cluster replication will not populate replication stubs.
If configuration scheduled replication is not an option, a workaround for future moves would be to specify that Unread Marks should be exchanged on replication (specified from Administration Client move mail dialog). This will trigger a replication during the adminp request processing and not wait for scheduled replication.
Subject: RE: Replication
Eric – excellent point… Carlos, be sure to schedule replication from each server in the cluster every hour or so… if you need to, set a replication time limit too…
Let us know if this resolves your issues…
Subject: Clustering
Clustering is not enable and I do have schedule replication set.
Subject: Moving Mail Users
I have had this fail for me when the mail user’s file is extremely large. Like a time out thing or something though I’ve never found a message, not even in AdminP. I end up doing it manually. Then run a fixup and compact.
