I have a user who reported this as an annoyance:
User has a Rule that sends certain emails to a personal email. When the message is received, the New Mail notification icon is displayed in the system tray. In LN 6, user could click on the personal folder without opening the email and the New Mail icon would disappear. With LN 8.0.1, user clicks on the personal folder without opening the email, but the New Mail icon does not disappear. Pressing the F9 key while in the personal folder does not cause the icon to disappear, either. If user returns to the Inbox, the icon then disappears.
When I tested the scenario, the same thing happens. In my testing, it appears that the New Mail Notification icon is designed to remain in the system tray until some action of consequence is taken in the mail file.
Any input on this issue would be helpful. If there are mixed results, I will take it up with IBM to see if this is intended behavior or buggy.
