New Mail Notification Clarification

I would like some clarification on how “When New Mail Arrives” notification works with a local replica.

I have a local replica of my mail DB

I have my “Check for new mail every” set to 5 minutes.

Does this setting check against my local replica or my DB on the server?

We have a user that gets a notification of new mail, but there is nothing in his inbox or all docs. After replicating a couple time he will finally receive the email.

Any ideas?

thanks

Look at the location settings - the mailfile that it checks against is specified in the mail tab there.

Great, this makes sense.I found that this users check new mail setting was higher than the replication settings which I believe could be the cause of false notifications. I changed checked new mail setting to 9 minutes and left replication setting at 10 minutes. Sent a test email, issue resolved.

Thanks again for the info
