How to make domino understand new file types for e.g. my file has unconventional (customized) extension .

Now on accessing this file the domino starts downloading the file. How can we avoid this and make domino understand new file type (login.abc)

You need to associate the new extension with the application using your operating system. The method depends on your operating system.

My Domino Web Server 6.02 is on Windows 2000 Operating System. Now how can i associate the new extension (.abc).

Kindly suggest.

Hi,

I am not sure if this resolves the problem for you in Notes but to change program associations in Windows 2000 is easy.

Just open:

Settings \Control Panel\ Folder Options \ File type

and change your settings.
