New emails for a particular user are arriving as already read. Ran maintenance, replaced design etc but no luck.

try deleting cache.ndk file. also, make sure that the db property “don’t maintain unread marks” is not enabled.

There is no preview pane because the effective access is READER

If user is using Release 8.5.1 Standard Configuration of notes client, Go to file- preference.Here in left side menus, you can find font"Fonts and colors".Select it, you can see the right side of the window, there is a option “Unread Mail indication”.Set value in the drop down box- Plain red Text.
Then save it and restat notes client and check.
