New Database - Cannot Run Agent

A couple of days ago, I created a new database, the first time since we upgraded from R5 to R6.

I created a form which I can access via the web. When I link to an agent in the WebQueryOpen event though, my form does not appear - it brings me to a default page from our server which says that my username or password is incorrect and that I should contact the helpdesk.

I compared my database properties and access control with other databases that I have that work fine. I also checked the agent and form properties.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance.

The agent security settings are a bit different in Domino 6; check the agent properties carefully. Older (R5) agents will run as they always have until you edit them – security settings will operate in a sort of backwards-compatibility mode.

Oh – and take a look at the security settings on the server document as well. There are new settings in addition to the R5 settings.

Thanks Stan. I’ve checked them, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. In fact, if I compare the setting with another agent, they are excatly the same.

I found it - in the agent properties I set the Runtime Target to None and it worked.

Thanks for the help!

Why not run ‘test’ diagnostic? This will save you guessing one thing at a time. Select the agent in Designer and run ‘test’. If you need more help, Agent FAQ has an article which goes over all new features in release 6 and common mistakes which has the symptom you described.
