Network Compression in Mixed Environment

Is there a requirement for ALL users of a server to be at 6.x before turning on network compression?

We have 4.6x and 6.51 clients, and all 6.51 servers. If we enable network compression on the server, so that we can have it available for the 6.51 clients, does that adversely effect the 4.6x clients, or do they simply ignore it?

Hi Greg,

You can enable on the server. This will force any 6.x client to compress data, and older versions will work as in the past.
