Network compression and pass-thru server

I am looking for some help with replication. We are currently using R5 and want to upgrade to R6. We currently use a pass-thru server to replicate the application. Will R6 compression and streaming work with R6 client, R6 application server and R5 pass-thru server? Or do both servers have to be R6?

It works with R6 and R5. You don’t must update both Server or all Clients.

NO - network compression requires the 6 version at both ends of the connection.
