working with 8.5.1 client and designer i get very nerving messages:
Progress information - updating windows - updating view contibutions
This comes every time i am opening or closing a db, document or design element. having client and designer open it might also happen that the active window is switching. this makes the programs very slow.
don’t really have an idea what can cause this, but it is very nerving.
tried to google this but could not find suitable results. But i guess there might be a problem with eclipse as i can find “contibuitions” together with eclipse.
the problem was caused by an matrox triplehead2go PowerDesk Driver. Removing the PowerDesk driver solved the problem.Posted a ticket with matrox - maybe they’ll take care of the problem.
We have this error happen at least 5 times a week in a company of 1200 users. Our solution is to replace design of mail file (We have a customized mail template).
For some reason it gets user through. It was only happening on 8.0.2 Notes Client.
IBM response was to upgrade to Notes 8.5.x. It is not an easy task to upgrade entire company, but now I see that 8.5.x may not fix it. We had one instance of this error on 8.5.1 client. I’m not sure if it was related to what you saw.
I just would like to keep this post going as we may not be alone who get this error.
