There is a button by clicking on which it fetch the data from the backend database and display it on the form , what will be the formula for this or code for this button .
this is a web based application .

Most of the formulas wont work on the web. What backend database are you referring to? Domino or RDBMS
If Domino, then you need to use LS to populate data. Go through the NotesDocument class in Designer Help file to find out how this can be done.

ya thanks but what the action button done it’ll fetch the data from the backend table which contains the employee leave status . already i have created a form in which put all the validation thru Javascript and the requester form i have created on the subform .should i go for creating another form which contain employee details (apart from js validation form ) .
this button actually gets the data from employee table and display on the bottom of the requester form .
if i go for agent how many agent should i have to write , . i know that for that button i have to write LS but connectivity is not going to be done perfectly
here i get totally confused , how should i go for this can anyone help me regarding this .

YoU CAN USE DBLOOKUP IF IT IS FOR A FILED>OTHER WISE YOU HAVE TO CREATE RTFIELD AND CAN DISPLAY THRU THAT
