Hi,I need to upgrade Domino Server 8.0 to 8.0.1 on Wndows XP. The patch available on http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&context=SSKTMJ&dc=D400&uid=swg24018329&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en&rss=ct463lotus is for Windows 2003 server. I tried using it but I guess its not the right one.The first window when you execute the patch , shows a “Welcome to Notes Incremental Installer” message.
Can somebody please help me with the installation?

Does the installer stop? …you mentioned the welcome to incremental installer message. That is normal if using the installer. Is there a reason (just curious) you are using Windows XP for a Domino server? …I realize that an OEM XP license is much cheaper than even the Windows 2003 Web Edition. I have done the same for testing, etc. but this sounds like production. In some cases, the incremental installs (and others) have not had XP listed in the title but are one in the same with the Windows 2003 version. The exceptions have really been certain companion products that will not install on XP. Unless you are receiving an OS not support message, it should be the right one.

The installer does stop giving an error “Incorrect version of Notes 8.0 found” on the next window,with the error being logged in UPGRADE.log file.
What I said in previous post was that the first Window has the message “Welcome to Incremental Notes Installer”.
Why is it “Notes” installer?
Shouldn’t it be “Domino” installer?
I have tried it as well on Windows 2003 Server. Have the same problem on it.

Download the file off of passport advantage for the domino server. In the listing of files it will include notes client as well as domino installs so just be sure and download the one that says server.
Additionally, avoid windows xp for a domino server unless this is a pure test environment as xp is not designed to be used as a server software. There are many memory/crash related issues that you will run into running the server software on windows xp and hence this is one of the many reason that it is not a supported on windows xp.
