Need feedback about removing "Properties" from the context menuin the PIM apps

Design partners, Need your feedback about one thing we changed in Notes 8.5-- we removed “properties” from the context menu in the PIM apps,-- Mail Calendar, To-dos, Contacts and Notebook.

We removed properties as part of a big paring down of the context menus-- we received LOTS and lots of feedback from you and others that our context menu was too long, and was a liability when it came to competitive situations against Outlook’s context menu.

We believe that only advanced users need the “properties” menu item, and since they are advanced users, they should be able to learn the shortcut key of alt+Enter

PLEASE UNDERSTAND. We did not do this to upset application developers. We did this to improve the Notes competitive position compared to Outlook.

THE BIG QUESTION: Will this change make it harder to see, support or maintain Lotus Notes? If yes, let us know and we’ll change it.

Here is the new notes 8.5 context menu for the Inbox

Subject: It’s an improvement that advanced users will acclimate to

If you know your way around Notes then I don’t see this as a problem.

Cheers

Subject: This is a good change

We can do without Properties on the context menu. works just as well. Without it the context menu is shorter and more user directed as opposed to support/IT directed.

What also needs to happen, the ‘Reply’ and ‘Reply to All’ options need to be clickable right from the menu, without having to select a sub-menu item. Just like the Action buttons on top.

Subject: As long as it sticks in the normal menus, fine with me
