Need Blackberry solution for Domino on Linux

I’m trying to find a blackberry solution for mail/calendar synchronization with Domino running on a Linux server.

Everything I’ve found about BES says Domino needs to be running on a Windows server.

I’ve tried setting up IMAP on the blackberry, but it really only POPed the email, it never updated the mail file on the domino server when anything was read or deleted on the blackberry.

Is there a synchronization solution for blackberries and Domino running on Linux?

Do you want to install the BES on Linux? If so this can not be done. The BES has to be installed on a Windows box with a Domino server running on it. However as far as I am aware there is no issue with the users’ home mail server being on Linux I know it works well on an iSeries.

Just to confirm what B Morris wrote, BES has to be on windows, but in our situation we have BES on domino on windows and then separately all our users remain on domino on linux on a separate server - this has never caused us any issues. We use BES 4.0 on domino 7.0.2 on windows server 2003 and domino 7.0.2 on RHEL 4 on the linux server.

Thanks for the response guys. I was just hoping there was another easier and less expensive solution. I don’t want to have to get a Windows server.

As long as BES is just an interface to Domino world - but because all real BB data resides in M$SQL database… is a must for windows server. I never heard of MSSQL server running on WINE…
