Hi,
try to mark the Inbox and press Ctrl (keep pressed) and then close Notes.

Nope that didn’t work. Is there a way to edit the desktop6.ndk?

Try compacting your Notes Workspace - See whether it works.
Thanks

Compacting the Workspace didn’t work. Good idea though. Got any others?

Try adding this line in your notes.ini file and restart the notesclient afterwards.
disable_note_cache=3

Does it matter where at in the .ini file i put it?
Subject: RE: .ndk
Not really. I always put it at the end of the file. This entry disables the caching of the notesclient which is causing the weird behaviour.

I put it at the end of the INI file and my mail box still opens in the subfolder.
Thanks for everyone’s help. Anyone got any more ideas I could try.
Thanks,
Dave

checklist:-in designer, inbox is still default view?
-in db properties, under launch tab, open in designated frameset (MailFS) and uncheck Restore as last viewed by user.
-Deleted client CACHE.NDK file.
-When all else fails, remove all bookmarks for file (from bookmark bar & sub folders as well as Workspace).
Then open mail file. As long as it opens to correct view, readd bookmarks.

Yes, the inbox is still the default view. I unchecked the Restore as last viewed. The mailbox is still opening in a subfolder.
I just remembered something. Last week while I was in my mailbox our mail server decided to crash. It is possible that I was in the subfolder when that happened but I don’t remember. Could that have affected this situation.
Thanks again,
Dave

An issue such as this is, generally, associated with a corrupt bookmark.nsf. Try the following.
Close Lotus Notes.
Delete bookmark.nsf.
Launch Lotus Notes again.

That worked. Thanks.
