NCDAEMON.EXE error in local replication

User is working from a local replication of his database. User receives the following command prompt(NCDAEMON.EXE) screen when sending mail from the local replication.

"The ID file being used is “path file here”…

“Enter password (press the Esc key to abort)”…

User is able to send mail but this prompt does not disappear.

I had the user close out of the client, he was then prompted with the diagnostics message. This would not close so I had him end the nlnotes.exe process. User restarted the PC but the next time he sent mail from local, it appeared again.

Any ideas? TIA

Subject: RE:NCDAEMON

Your issue is with McAfee AV. It installs a couple of “notes scanner” options that are not compatible with Lotus Notes 8. McAfee had a publication about this. They are supposed to be fixing the issue in a future release 8.7i patch 1. In the mean time the only option is to remove the McAfee components from the machines having the issue. I have noticed that McAfee does not always effect Lotus the same way depending on the type of install, single user or multi-user. Check out my blog on bleed yellow regarding this.http://bleedyellow.com/blogs/LotusLand/entry/mcafee_antivirus_and_lotus_notes_8_a_word_of_caution

Subject: Upgrade to VSE 8.7i worked

Thanks Steve, I was able to upgrade the user to 8.7i rather than disable the feature.
