NAB template did not upgrade to Domino 6

Hi,I upgraded the our R5 Administration server and chose Yes when I was asked if I want to upgrade the design of the NAB. Everything seems to be working good so far but I noticed that the NAB design did not update - it’s still using the R5 template. I tried replacing the design but I keep getting an error message saying that Replace or Refresh of the NAB failed.

Anyone encounter this before and any suggestions?

Thanks,

Zerline

I’ve never seen that. Look at the database properties for names.nsf. Does it have a template assigned to it?

If all else failes, you could try…

  • shutdown the server.

  • copy names.nsf to a computer with the Lotus Notes client (same client version of Notes as the server).

  • manually replace the database design, file > database > replace design

  • then copy names.nsf back to the server, and startup the server.

Hi Doug,Thanks for the suggestion. I did actually try that and my R6 client replaced the design with no error. The wierd thing though is that when I opened it, the interface still looked exactly the same as R5. I know that the NAB has a new look for R6 based on what I’ve seen when I tested my upgrade tasks on my test server.

In the inherit design from master template property, it still says StdR4AddressBook which is what it’s supposed to be I believe. Correct me if I’m wrong.

The master template property indeed has to be StdR4PublicAddressBookIt sounds a bit as if the design elements of your address book have the property ‘prohibit design refresh or replace to modify’ checked in the design properties of the design elemenents of your address book.

I finally called lotus support and found out that all my R6 templates did not install for some reason to replace my old R5 templates on the server so even if I was replacing the design, nothing of course was changing because the template was wrong. I ended up copying over the R6 templates from the data directory of my R6 test server and copying it over to my production server. After that, everything worked fine.
