Multpile Fields as a single column in a view based on aother column of similar make up

Good Day All,

I have a Column 1 which is of multiple values on the same docs from different fields. Fields M1:M2:M3:M4. The values appear in the column as they should.

I am attempting to add in three columns that will display the 3 associated properties to M1-M4. so a total of 12 fields need to be displayed dependent on Column ones value of that doc.

So basically we have choice 1 on the form with 3 associated properties, choice 2 with 3 associated properties, etc…

I need to based on the value of choice 1 in column A place the correct associated field in associated properties 1-3.

So the fields are M1 - A1:A2:A3, M2 - A1_1:A2_1:A3_1, etc…

How can I compare the value of that current lines column A value to determine which if list to run with ??

Thanks in advance folks,

Ken

Ken,

You cannot do this. The view columns are not aware of which part of the multi-value field is being displayed to the left/right. They only know that that field is being displayed, but since it’s multi-value that doesn’t help you.

If not categorizing on any of these values, you could make one big wide column that puts the values together.

This is an infamous fact of life in notes views.

Hi

This is not infamous, as you said… but normal.

For particular purpose, the best way is web access, within which you may display whatever you want.

Don’t forget that a view is aimed to display one document a line, or to categorize them.

But the philosophy is the same, one document.

In some cases, a column with a @if may help you, but you’ll always have to categorize them

(don’t forget to custom the columns properties, in order to let them appear in some convenient way).

If this do not help, consider, again, using web access…
