In the past (R5), all users with this entry in their person document would receive the email. Now under 6.5 it seems that the server reports ‘recipient user name not unique’ and fails to deliver the email at all.
Is this by design, or is there something I can do to allow >1 user to receive these type of emails?

Have you tried groups? That’s what they’re for – to allow (for instance) a single e-mail address to direct mail to multiple individuals. (They are also maintainable by people local to the functionality – i.e., the website manager can and should determine who “webmaster” is rather than the Notes/Domino administrator.)

Yes – it’s my understanding that Notes should have choked on non-unique/non-resolvable addresses in the first place (or at least restricted itself to sending to the “first best match”).

Yes, I suppose groups would do the job just fine. I was just surprised when this stopped working after the upgrade. It seemed like a simple enough solution as it was.
So - reading between the lines I gather then that this behaviour is by design as far as you are aware, and there’s no ‘problem’ per se.
