Had a previous Domino domain (Old) and moved everything to a new Domino domain (New). I am seeing often times the following message, and it seems to be rather random.

Delivery Failure Report
Your message: Accepted: Accounting/Finance team building event @ Bowl-A-Rama was not delivered to: Person/new@OLD because: No route found to domain OLD from server server/NEW. Check Server, Connection and Domain documents in the Domino Directory.

I have Domain and Connection documents on that server to send to itself for the OLD domain. Am I missing something? I was fairly certain I followed the Help thoroughly. Apparently, I am mistaken.
And how the heifer is it that the OLD domain is showing up in that fashion? It should be the NEW domain for everything /NEW@NEW, shouldn’t it?
Subject: old domain
In the past I was able to add the old domain to the list of Notes domains in the global domain doc and it would see it as a local domain and deliver it. Lately though I’ve seen a few rouge e-mails trying to go to an old domain name we used to have and even though we’ve left the old notes domain is the list it does not route (same error as you). Way back in 4.6 I did a domain merge and had to setup a single server in the old domain to simply accept the mail and route it back to the new domain. It was just a fail safe but it did work.
As for how you are getting the old domain name it’s likely one of these issues:
-
a user still has the old MailDomain field on their location document in their pnab listing the old domain
-
a user has a group document in their pnab with members that have the old domain appended to them
-
a user has a person doc or contact in their pnab listing a user with the old domain name
-
a user is replying to an old e-mail where the TO field lists a user with the old domain name
