Multiple folders with same name in archive

I recently found I couldn’t see mails I had filed and which had subsequently been archived. When I used the X1 search engine, they could be located easily. I discovered that I had multiple instances of several folders in the archive with the same names. I only found this out by using the “Discover Folders” function. The multiples do not appear under the archive folder structure. What I want to be able to do is to get rid of the extras, preferably moving their contents into the “current” (for want of a better term) versions of each. A short term work-around would be to make the extra folders visible, so at least I could do the moving manually.

I don’t care how this has happened (I’ve given up on speculating about the inner workings of Notes, wondering how to live with the obstructive interface is hard enough). I just want to be able to fix it. What use are folders if I can’t find them again?

Subject: What use are bugs? - still they are there (and not just with Notes)

if you create a new folder (different name) and move the stuff from the folder you see, into the new one, delete the folder you did empty just right now, restart everything, chances are good you see the next one of them and can go on the same way…

Subject: Corruption

It sounds like there is some corruption within the folder structure of your archive DB. You might be best off making a new archive DB for yourself and copying over the messages, which can be time-consuming, but it might be your best bet to avoid this kind of thing in the future.

Subject: Try this.

Not tested, but I would try this:

  1. Select the database

  2. Application\Replace Design

  3. Select mailr8 template.

  4. Option will come available “Upgrade folder design”, enable this…

ok and check!
