Hi!
I have a form in which I have the following fields…
Approver1, Approver 2… Approver8.
DateApproved1, DateApproved2,… DateApproved8
Remarks1, Remarks2 … Remarks8
I would like to display these 8 fields as a different row under the each column titled APPROVER, DATE, REMARKS in a view.
I don’t know how to bring in the corresponding columns that go along with the corresponding level number.
Would appreciate it if someone can help me out on this asap as I need to solve it urgently.
Thanks so much in advance…
Subject: Multiple fields in a column
You will need to concantenate the Approver, Date Approved and Remarks field together after each “approval” into a single hidden multivalue field (that is set to NewLine as a separator) in the document itself. Once this is done then use Raj’s 1st response to your question about using “multivalue separator New Line” with the view column set to the hidden field.
The code for your hidden field (if you are using a computed field) should be something like this:
Approver1 + " " + DateApproved1 + "Remarks: " + Remarks1 + @NewLine;
Approver2 + " " + DateApproved2 + "Remarks: " + Remarks2 + @NewLine;
…
Approver8 + " " + DateApproved8 + "Remarks: " + Remarks8 + @NewLine;
You could also put the above code into an action button (or whatever the approvers are using for approving their portion of the document) to set the hidden field.
Hope this helps,
Brad

Hi! Thanks for your immediate response.
I was able to display now the field values in one column.
However, the corresponding value for each level does not match the approver when I do categorized them using the Approver name.

Try including a hidden column sorting everything by approver or whatever it is you want to organise the data by.

Hi,
Do not categorize the approver (or any of these) column…
Since approver,approvedate,remarks are all multifield,multivalue columns it basically contains an array of the values…
views cannot link values accross arrays…
so the result…
this is what i think, anyone correct me if i am wrong…
