Multiple email accounts in Notes

Hello all.

I have been using Notes for the last 10 years but I cannot find a neat way to use my Notes client for multiple emails.

I have my personal email on hotmail and I would like to receive these emails in my Notes client and respond to them using the email address that the mail was sent to.

The only possible way I found to do this is setup a POP Account in my address book (that works fine) and using a different location document to send out emails.

Receiving emails from other POP accounts is not really the problem. The problem is that when I reply to such an email from a POP account the email is sent out with my corporate email address through the Domino Server unless I change locations in the Notes client.

Changing locations is not really working, because most of the time I forget to do so. One has to be very careful and first examine to which address the email was sent to.

I would like to have something similar to a Blackberry: By responding to an incoming email the system uses the account that the email was sent to.

Anyone has any experience or ideas how to implement this in Notes?

Thanks for any help provided.

Subject: Widgets ?

Hi,

I’m using Notes 8.5.2.

I’m using a widget for my gmail.

I know there are widgets for Facebook, Twitter, linkdIn and even SharePoint.

Look in the Widget Catalog on your server.

Subject: Good idea - did not think of it!

Thanks for the hint Mov. That’s something I really did not think about.

I am using the LN 8.5.1FP4 Client for the time being. By saying that these widgets are in the Widget server catalogue, do you mean that the Domino 8.5.2 server or client inculdes these widgets by default?

Where can I find all these goodies you mentioned: LinkedIn, gmail etc?

Subject: Widgets ?

Hi Vassilis,

I think there is a template on the server, toolbox.ntf. Use this for container. The rest is just

drag and drop.

I can se my setup includes a local replica of toolbox.nsf containing a lot of widgets.

I don’t think there are any widgets by default.

You can find the widgets at notes net or supply a mail address and I can mail them for you.

As Sriram suggests, just search for “Google gadgets in lotus notes”.

I’m using the LinkedIn and gmail widgets every day it’s just working fine.

Please remember the Feeds functions too. Get Ed Brill, Lotus Notes and Domino, Lotus Sametime,

Dropbox and Picasa wikis and feeds just one click away.

Subject: My email address

Mov & Sriram, thanks to both of you.

My email is: vassilispapa@hotmail.com if you would be so kind to send me these widgets.

I will in the meantime do some internet research as Sriram you suggested.

Subject: widgets

Hi Vassilis,

Done, and check this one:

http://www.openntf.org/internal/home.nsf/release.xsp?action=openDocument&documentId=CFDCB89DFCC5C76F8625767700332948

I think it was there I got several of my favor widgets.

Subject: Thanks once again Mov.

You know what would really be great? If one could integrate a mail client like Thunderbird in a widget. I could certainly use something like that, but I have absolutely no clue how to setup widgets.

Subject: Enable widgets.

Hi,

Enable widgets in Notes R 8.5.X:

From menu View - Toolbar- Select widgets.

From menu View - Right sidebar select Open or press CTRL+4.

From menu View - Right sidebar panels and select My widgets and Feeds and…

When widgets are in the Widget Catalog/toolbox.nsf you can drag and drop and change options by right clicking on your widgets icon.

I did make a search for at widget for Thunderbird but not found any.

What about making a gmail account and use that one ?
