Hi you all .At our company we are redesigning our domino structure. every domain has it’s own smtpserver. Because of cost cutting and consolidation of multiple servers we are going back from 30 dominoservers to a couple of clusters and two smtp servers for external email.
problem
We have got three domino R6 domains, 6 internet domains, but we only want one smtp mailserver domain with two mailservers.
Wat is the best way to set this up.? using secondairy addressbooks on the smtp server? we do want to use the emailaddresses set up in the person documents in every domain.
Does anyone of you have a good suggestion? or have a similar solution to this?

did you already look into domain documents? As far as I understood your question, you should solve it with that feature.

This is my suggestion:1) Cross Certify your domains and create connection documents between servers for NRPC routing. (This is for communication between your domains internally)

In Global Domain document of your domain, that has SMTP servers, add all your internet domains.

Create connection Documents between SMTP servers and servers in different domains.
Additionaly if you want to provide userlist between domains, setup directory assistance.
