Help!! I have looked all over the place but have not found an answer to this puzzling situation…
Here’s the dilemma: Within a major application that we have developed in-house, it seems that, when one attachment (in a field which contains multiple attachments) is modified, and replication occurs, ALL the attachments in that field are fully replicated up to the server. Now, this is the case within the Notes 7.0.x client. The puzzling part is that, when using a Notes 6.5.x client, only the attachment that was modified is replicated up to the server, thus greatly reducing the replication time. We have tested this scenario with multiple databases (including creating a DB from scratch using the default Discussion Database template) in both versions of the client and the results have remained consistent.
So, here’s my questions:
-
Has something changed with replication or how Notes handles attachments between Notes 6.5.x and Notes 7.0.x which would explain these results?
-
If something has indeed changed, is there a way to force Notes to only replicate modified attachments (beyond only allowing one attachment in each field)?
Any other observations/comments on attachment replication are also welcome…
Thanks!
