Multi-value fields

A document contains a text field with multi-values. Some values of this are empty (string “”). If I check the field by the document property box in a view, I can see all values correctly and when I get this field by the back-end document in LotusScript I get also all values correctly. But when I open the document and check then the field by the document property box, I can see only values without the empty values. When I get this field by the back-end document in LotusScript, I get also only the values not empty. The same result when I use the @-formula. When I get the field in front-end, then all values are correctly. If the document is in edit modus and I refresh the document, the property box shows the field correctly, but the access by LotusScript an @-formula is the same like above.

I want to get the data by the back-end document in LotusScript regardless the document is open or not.

What is the reason for this.

Excuse me for my bad English, I am a German user.

Thank you in advance for any answer.

Subject: Multi-value fields

I hope your multivalue field has values like:“A”;“B”; “”;“”;“D”;“E”;“”;“Z”

When you open the document and check the document property, you see the field values as: “A”;“B”;“D”;“E”;“Z”

without the empty strings.

If this is the problem you are having, then check your field’s Translation formula with any @Trim(Your multivalue field).

If so removing it will give you the result too as

“A”;“B”; “”;“”;“D”;“E”;“”;“Z” along with empty strings.

you can access this field values into a variant using script as:

uidoc.Document.YourMultivalueField or

Source.Document.YourMultivalueField

Check if “Allow Multiple Values” are selected in the field properties and in “Advanced” Tab of field properties “Multivalue OPtions” are set properly.

How are u trying to retrieve the values using Lotus script. ie. what method r u using ?
