Multi User installation - upgrading from NT4.0 to Win2000

Scenario : I have multi user installation of Lotus Notes for roaming users on Windows NT4.0 workstations.The path for the shared data directory is the default, ie c:\winnt\profiles\Application data\lotus\notes\data\shared.

I am using clean up so the personal data directory gets zapped on closing Notes, but while the session is running it exists as

C:\WINNT\Profiles[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data

What will happen to this when I upgrade from Win NT4.0 to Win2000?

Presumably (I suspect) the Windows upgrade copies your profile to the new path in 2000, which is c:\documents and settings[username].…etc. So I imagine that the SHARED notes data directory will be copied there. HOWEVER, the notes.ini would not change as a result of this, so I would guess that any attempt to start Notes after the upgrade would fail.

I’m sure IBM / Lotus will have thought of this, but I can’t find any relevant documentation. Can anyone point me to this, or provide any advice?

My understanding is that when you upgrade NT 4.0 to Win2000, although the OS creates “Document And Settings” folder structure, it continues to use the %WINDIR%\profiles%USERNAME% for any existing users on that machine.
