I have an issue with the MS Outlook Connector for Domino:
My server runs Domino r6.5.6 on w2003 and I try to reach my mail db through the MS Outlook Connector for Domino from my workstation. I have Lotus Notes 6.56 installed.
I followed the MS installation instructions, the product sees my id file and sever name but when I click on ‘ok’ a message appears that told I can’t reach my folders , and check if server is available (it’s the case !). I run it with Outlook 2003.
I check that I can reach the server from the network by it’s name and it’s ok but I still can’t connect from the MS Outlook Connector.
Domino server has two names a) Server name as defined in servers names.nsf server document b) Machine name or network identifier. In most cases these two names differ as one is defined by a Domino admin and second by Network admin. Solution is to map both names into your machine’s local host file. Mention the correct IP address in host file, against the domino server you are trying to connect.
In your case, the required network accessibility is there. But name you use may not be the actual name Domino server name.
If this doesn’t work out try giving IP address of domino server into Outlook connector tool.
Sorry for my late responseYes I agree but I already tried to use the localhost file first and it didn’t function, i even tried to put directly the ip address but it fails to connect too. It’s amazing !
