Moving users from one computer to another. What to backup

At my work, we regularly upgrade users computers, which mean moving the Lotus Notes to their new computers. In the past our summer employees would just copy the Notes\data folder and the .ini file to the persons new computer. Well, this doesn’t work to well, because the new computers usually have a new version of Notes with the new notes databases.

I am looking to create a batch file for the summer employees. What is essential to back up when moving a user to a new computer.

ID FIle

Names.nsf

My mind is drawing a blank. I know there’s more, but can’t think of any.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Subject: Moving Users Files

Depending on the way you have your network setup, Active Directory, multi user client setup. These are the files you need…

  1. Multi users setup… Windows, C:\document and setting\UserProfile\Local setting\Application\Lotus Notes, copy the entire directory to your new desktop copy it to the same location on the new computer.

Or just copy, Notes.ini, User.id, Names.nsf, bookmark.nsf

Same thing copy these files to the same location…

I resolve this issues by enabling Lotus notes roaming for user setup…
