I have to upgdate our Domino Server 5.0.11 (win2000 server) to Domino Server 8.5.1 (Linux).Added the new server in names then configured the new server.
It work’s fine, moved a test mailfile in the new server but when i try to upgrade the mail database design usin “load convert mail\xxx.nsf * mail85.ntf” it doesn’t work with this message:
" Mail Convert Failed on mail\xxx.nsf: Design Replacement Error: Cannot write or create file (file or disk is read-only)"
This moring i made another try:
1)logon using notes client with xxx id
2)open xxx.nsf
3)load convert mail\xxx.nsf * mail85.ntf
And now the mail file has the correct 8.5 template!!
All my users will access mail via intranet without notes client, is there a way to upgrade database design from console?

Hm, I personally hate it when people are doing operations on databases using the OS! You have setup server connections, why not use the adminp process to Move users to you new server??
