Moving User name in the name hierarchy Issue

Some time ago one of our users was improperly moved (the qualifying Org. Unit box was left with an OU name) to the new Org Unit. Now if someone replies to his email the email address will show as username/OU/OU/CompanyName instead of username/OU/CompanyName.Due to this email is not routed and it fails. If I manually remove one of /OU then it is working fine.

I tried to move him to different OU and it did not succeed.

Please advise what I should be doing to get this corrected.

Subject: user moves OU

Make sure the owner field of the mail file is set to the new OU. Also, in the person doc, set the name field to be both the old OU and the new OU at least temporarily. Otherwise, if people reply to emails the user sent before the move, it will come back as undeliverable.

I have checked for duplicate OU on user’s Person document under Administration tab,Owners- there was no duplicate OU.When I opened user’s mailfile from Admin console and under Preferences, Owner option I found that duplicate OU. Removing it foxed the issue.
