Hello all,
is there a possibility for the users (e.g. via special URL) moving from the advanced design to simple design in iNotes.
Background is, that the download time with advanced design and a small bandwith is very long.
Thank you
Manfred

Well, it kinda is a special URL. There is a domino redirect database that exists out here somewhere. What this does, after you login, gives you a couple seconds delay to change the option, one of them being going to the simple design. It remembers which one you chose the last time, and uses that one each time afterwards until you change it back. Look into it.
Other benefits of this as well. The user doesn’t have to remember a long url. For example, you would have this database as the ‘homepage’ for your mail system ‘mail.company.com’, where it prompts you for the user name and password, with the name, it finds the user in the NAB and where their mail file resides, so it can redirect them to multiple mail servers (redirect to mail02.company.com automatically if needed).

Thats what I am saying, don’t have to give them a special url. When it searchs and loads up on the web, you will see a scroll bar, and an clickable ‘options’ flag on the website, where you click that, stops the process, and lets you change the default behavior. Where it points that users sign in to use the simple design. But let me see what happens when I open up my mail file in the simple way. And I will cut and paste the url (removing me and my company of course). But I still reccomend the redirect, so it takes any kind of having to remember the link if they borrow someone elses pc. Anyways, the url format is:
With the mail.yourcompany.com being changed to your mail url, and the yourmailfile.nsf replaced with the location/name of your mail file.
