Moving servers

I am building a server to replace an existing server. I would like to know the essntial files and DBs that I need to copy from the old server to the new one to get the server up and running. I am not interested in data files at this time.

But what if i want to move from one platform to other…

If i want to move my domino server from windows to AIX…

What is the correct Method ?

  1. Install secondary server on AIX, Replicate all the database on to the new server, decommission the old server.

  2. Install Domino server on aix using the existing server id file, Copy entire data folder into notesdata folder, modify the old notes.ini from widows server to change ‘C:\lotus\Domino\Data’ string with '\opt\ibm\lotus\notesdata' and start the server.
