I was wondering what is the correct method to move users mail from one organisation to another. These two organisations don’t have possibility to cross certificate their servers. So the “usermaildb.nsf” must be manually copied to another server and then somehow made available to the user in the new orgnisation. It is possible to just copy the new mail database to the server and switch the users mail file in the person document and then with Full Access Admin rights set user rights for the new organisation. I don’t think that this is the only and correct method.

The method you described is what I would do - but then I am a simple soul!!!
Also, as I had copied the mail file through the O/S I would also run fixup and possibly updall on it to ensure consistency.
I would also put a forwarding address in the users person document in the old Organisation’s Directory - as the two Orgs don’t communicate (?) this could be an internet address.
That way the user won’t miss out on any mail. The users could also edit their signatures to point out to people they mail to that their email address has changed.
