On client ver 8.5.2, using the current Contacts template (StdR4PersonalAddressBook, 8.5.2, 06/23/2010). In the Recent Contacts folder, choose a contact and click on the “Move to My Contacts” button. It asks you to confirm; pick “OK”.
Now go to the “My Contacts” folder, and you will not find it. Turns out it was moved to the Trash. You can then restore it and it will end up in the My Contacts folder as intended.
I can reproduce it at will on two machines, but have not dug into the issue very far.
Anybody else experience this?
Subject: Move to My Contacts
This function makes a copy of the recent contact and moves it to the My Contact view. It then deletes the recent contact (which is why you are seeing it in Trash). A copy is made because recent contacts cannot be synchronized, as they have a bit set in the UNID. The new copy does not have this bit.
Try pressing F9 in the My Contacts view; the moved RC should be there.
Also check by First name and by Last name. If you found it, is the sort order on the moved RC different than what you have set in Contacts preferences?
