More out of office (mis)behaviour

We’re currently runnung a pilot on Domino/Notes 8.0.1 and I have examples of Out of Office behaving differently. One of our users, who is currently out of the office, has his OOO set so that an OOO message is sent for every mail he receives, regardless of whether that user has already been notified during the absence period. This is presumably by design because the default message contains the line “You will receive a notification for each message you send to this person while the person is away” whereas most others have the line “This is the only notification you will receive while this person is away.”

Where is this configured? I can’t find it when enabling OOO.

The extra weird thing is that when I send this same person a message I get nothing in return (there are no exceptions set).

Subject: Mail File Upgrade?

I got the same thing, and noticed that the database in question was upgraded to 8 template at 4:05PM, when the OOO agent was running.

Subject: Same here in 8.0.2 - Out of Office message includes mystery line

The out of office message I received from a user today clearly states at the bottom “You will receive a notification for each message you send to this person while the person is away.” I sent another message to “the person”. No notification came back for my 2nd message.

I’m not fussed about the consequences (after all, who reads out of office messages past the dates anyway? ha ha) but… I would love to know how this can happen.

Subject: Update to earlier post: I AM receiving multiple Out of Office notifications from this person

The notifications are delayed (unlike normal out of office notifications which are instantaneous). The first time I saw this anomoly (where the OOO notification said, “You will receive a notification for each message you send this person while the person is away.”)I sent my message at 8:30am and received the OOO notification at 10:00am. The second msg I sent was sent at 2:12pm and the OOO notification just arrived at 4pm.

Every line of documentation (and the OOO form itself) indicates that each sender will receive one and only one notification during the person’s absence.
