I studied the monitoring, report and statistics in depth. I’ve implemented in my company but i’ve still have strange things happened and have open questions. Maybe someone can help me:
I’m working with a central collecting server for 4 servers. I only started the collect task on this server. And the event tasks on all servers.
- I deleted all event handlers made by default, and add one to send a mail for every fatal, failure and warning high severity but it doesn’t work if I don’t make another one that logs these events into the statrep.nsf first !!!
Why ?
- Event notifications are working well for all system console messages (fatal, failures, warning high) but not for event genarators (Domino probe, ACL Changes,…). When I create these generators I specify a fatal severity and it should normally send a mail (see point 1) I need to create a seperate event handler for each new generator because it doesn’t work !

In the server statistics collection document I specify a collect interval and an alarm interval. But the question is when this alarm will be generated and how, on which stat ? If you assume the collect interval every 60 minutes and the alarm interval every 15 minutes, does it means that the interval will check what has been collected every 60 minutes ? SO, will it generates the same alarm every 15 minutes ?

What is the reason of IBM to create by default different even handlers for every type of events (Mail, Misc, Replication,…) with all the same severity ?
If someone can give me some more professional exlpanation it will be very gratefull.
