Modify All Names fields in Access Control

Hi

I have a database where the setting "Modify All Names Fields is set in the access control. However, when a person is renamed in the domino directory, none of the document is updated.

In the administration requests database, I get an error log for the person in the rename person in unread list

Title: RCOMINT Domino Directory File name: Names.nsf; Error: Your public key does not match the one stored in the Address Book

Title: Administration Requests (R6) File name: admin4.nsf; Error: Your public key does not match the one stored in the Address Book

Does this have anything to do with not updating the name fields?

Can anyone reply where i am going wrong

Thanks in advance

Hi Kiran,

have a look in the Admin Help database under the section ‘Administration Process Requests → Rename Person’ - that’s where it is in R7, anyway.

This should give you an understanding of what happens.

It sounds like the process has actioned the ‘Initiate rename in Domino Directory’, but when the user has next opened a session on the server and tried to accept the name change, there has been a mismatch between the certificate in the id file and that in the person document in the NAB.

You can examine the certificate in the person doc by opening it and clicking on the certificates tab. Copy the contents of the ‘Notes certified public key’ to the clipboard, create a new, two column table in a Notes document, and paste into the first column this value.

Then get the user to take the following action: Select File-> Security->User security->(user enters password)->Your identity->your certificates->Other actions->mail, copy certificates->Click on ‘Copy Certificate’ button. Then, user creates a new email, goes to the body field and pastes in the certificate and sends to you. You then paste this value into the second column of your table and compare the values, which should be different.

If this is the case, then get the user to take the following action:

Select File-> Security->User security->(user enters password)->Your identity->your certificates->Other actions->Request name change->Enter your name and Click on send mail buton and click OK.

When you open the email, you need to do Actions, Certify attached ID file, select your certifier id etc and send it back to the user. They should then follow the instructions in the email to accept the new certificate and all should be lovely. If you have direct access to their id file, the process will be much simpler, but I don’t have time to explain now - go figure!
