Modify a ‘After new mail arrives’ agent in a template database: will it trigger on previously received mails ?
Business case :
I have ‘collective mailboxes’ (= mailin databases) for system monitoring;
these mailin databases are all based on a template.
I designed this template a few years ago : I added a ‘After new mail’ agent who simply send a ‘warning mail’ to related administrators.
It works perfectly but now I want to add a link to the warning mail.
It can easily be done but I’m afraid to change the agent !
Questions:
Would this change make the agent trigger on previously received mails (potentially thousands of warnings then)?
I would make this change, not in the mailin database(s), but in the template database.
Can it have an influence on the trigger?
I think I can’t change it to a ‘Before new mail arrives’ in this case because the original mails are automatically created and/or routed by various other systems
