Hi,
we are running Mixed 8.08 / 8.5 client on 8.5 Domino server and now I am wondering which template is best praktice Mail 8.5 or Mail 8.02?
Should we run the newest template version even though some clients still 8.02 or should we run the 8.02 mail template and thus have 8.5 clients running with an older template?

In our development organization we run both ways…
Best Practice would be to just go ahead and upgrade to 8.5 Mail Template for everyone… It will work just find… Potentially, some new features that require both 8.5 Notes Client and 8.5 Mail Template will not be available until the users upgrade there Notes Clients from 8.0.2 to 8.5 but all 8.0.2 functionality should not be impacted with a 8.5 Mail Template.
Subject: Use the 8.5 mail template to enable calendar federation
If you want to allow users to merge other Notes or iCal calendars into their own, then go with the Notes 8.5 mail template. This will work for both 8.0.2 and 8.5 clients.
