Mix of R5 and 6 clients, R5 Server - scheduling problems?

Hello,

I have an R5.08 server still. My clients are mostly still 5.08, although I’ve been piloting 6 for about 2 months now. Most users are still on 6, although a small number are trying 6.01.

Everything seemed to be going well enough…

It seems that we are experiencing calendar and scheduling issues. Users set to ‘Prefers MIME’ were the first to see this, and that is fixed now. Still, I’m having a lot of people saying that meetings ‘disappear’, that accepting requests is causing errors (object variable not set and others), and today the resource reservation database reported that a user had one room booked, while their calendar indicated a different room (very strange…)

I’m thinking that upgrading my server may provide some refief here. Has anyone experienced problems like this?

Should I upgrade the server from 5.08 to 6.01? Should I upgrade all of the 6.0 clients to 6.01?

Any recommendations or assistance are appreciated!

I have the same type of environment with the same bugs.

Try getting your servers to R6. This should alleviate some of the bugs. But C&S will never be perfect since the users entering the data always manage to do so in a way the programmers never expected.
