Missing toolbars and toolbar options in DDE

I am missing some context-sensitive toolbars in DDE - for example, no form toolbar, so I have to create a field from the menu.

I have previously found in 8.0 and 8.0.1 in the Notes Client that turning off various toolbars and turning them on again could sometimes fix this. However I don’t get any toolbar options when I right-click in DDE.

The choices in DDE are: Lock the toolbar, Customize Perspective, Show Toolbar

In Notes the choices are: Toolbars - toolbar sub-menu, Toolbar Preferences

I also don’t get Preferences under the File menu, so how do I modify toolbars in Designer now?

Subject: toolbars are not final in beta

work is ongoing to resolve all the correct toolbars.

You can find preferences in Designer in the Window menu (that’s where Eclipse keeps it). As the menus are still being refined, opinions on whether to keep it where Eclipse puts it or where Notes puts it would be very helpful!

thanks!

Subject: I still can’t get any context sensitive menus in DDE, except for XPages

I found the preference and the toolbar settings, show Context Sensitive toolbars is ticked, and all the appropriate toolbars are listed.

However All I get is a greyed out view navigation toolbar and universal toolbar

Subject: OK, I’d say put it where Eclipse puts it

Rationale:

  • Designer is a plug-in to Eclipse, not to Notes

  • You want to help notes developers move to Eclipse

  • You want to also target devs who are familiar with Eclipse

  • You will one day support DD as an Eclipse plug-in to a developer’s existing eclipse environment (and I hope you don’t/haven’t locked the product out of doing this)
