Trying to recertify four users and get the error message “the note does not contain either a public key or certificate”
Can’t I just recreate these users?
Subject: Missing public key or certificate error
Does the error message refer to their person documents in the Domino Directory missing public keys or certificates?If that is the case (ie. they really don’t have any public keys), then you should be able to re-create them from scratch without any legacy problems.
However, if they DO have public keys, then when you recreate their IDs, they will get a new private/public key pair, and will not be able to read any existing encrypted mail.
