Using Notes 7.0.2, I made a local replica copy of a database and archived it to CD.
When I open the database with a 7.0.2 client, everything works correctly.
When I open it with 8.0.2 (under both FP1 and FP2), the default view opens but there are no other visible views available. If I try to open a document it says the form is missing. If I view the database in Designer, there are no design elements (including the default view).
The database is in ODS 43 format. I am using the same user ID under both versions and no local encryption or security is enabled. The design tab under database properties says “Design is not hidden”.
Subject: Missing design elements opening database from CD
Hi,
Please refer the below article for resolution
Error: ‘Invalid NSF version’ or ‘Cannot write or create file (file or disk is read-only)’ when attempting to open a database on CD or DVD Product: Lotus Notes > Lotus Notes > Version 8.0, 7.0, 6.5
Problem
You generate a new database using a Notes 6 or 7 client and transfer the database to DVD or CD. When you attempt to open the database using a Notes 8 Standard Configuration or Basic Configuration, you receive one the following error messages:
“Invalid NSF version”
or

This issue is now fixed in Notes 8.0.2 Fix Pack 1. Fix details: SPR# RCFE7DJNKD
Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.
Note: A cumulative client hotfix (CCH) is available for Notes client 8.0.2 that fixes the issue reported in SPR# RCFE7DJNKD . Since hotfixes do not receive the extensive testing that maintenance releases and fix packs do, customers are encouraged to implement workarounds or deploy a release containing the fix. However, if workarounds are not possible or applicable and you still need a fix, contact IBM Technical Support to request the CCH containing the fix for this issue.
Workaround:
Generate the database using a Notes 8 client for use with Notes 8 or lower clients.
For Notes 6 or 7 clients, generate the database for use within the same code stream.
