This is happening on all clients including XP and Vista. If using full mode, the action bar with the send button is missing!?! You cannot reply to or send a new message. If I switch to lite mode, the buttons appear. Hmmm… any ideas?

I am having this same issue on 1 of my Windows 7 PCs. We are running 8.5.2FP2 on the system and the associate reports that the button disappears occasionally.
I went to his desk and verified that Send, send and file, save as draft, and delivery options were not present.

Hi,we are facing the same problem on one of our clients.
Lotus Notes 8.5.1 - FP5 - with sametime advanced and embedded installed.
We have compared the installation to an identical LN setup and cant find any differences.
The workaround so far is pressing F9 and the view updates - and the send button etc is shown.
Ps - we have also tried to upgrade the design on database without success.
Any clues on how to fix this?
