Mimic Outlook Shared IMAP Folder

In Outlook I can add multiple shared folders that link to an IMAP server, other than Exchange. How can I accomplish this in Lotus Notes?

From the other posting …

Couple of questions so I may clarify what I believe is being asked:

Are they using the Notes IMAP client?

Are they implying that once they connect with Outlook with IMAP to their own mail file residing on a server that they can then subscribe to another user’s folder on a DIFFERENT IMAP server?

At this moment, the Domino server does not support any Remote capabilities, so this would not be possible. However, if the shared user’s folder resides on the same DOMINO server, the IMAP Namespace feature would accomplish this.

In fact it isn’t even a user’s imap folder. It’s a shared IMAP mailbox, on third-party server. If I understand the Notes client set-up, it creates a separate database (type IMAP Proxy)for the IMAP connection. That would be ok if (1) drag-and-drop from user’s notes mail would be possible and (2) it would not have that hidious release 6 look.

Would this imply using Outlook as a mail client? If this is the only solution, I might as well suggest migrating to Exchange  / :-(I was hoping for a way to link to an IMAP folder outside the mailbox.

One option I could think of, is linking to a separate Notes mailbox with an embedded outline. But how do I synchronise an IMAP mailbox on the Domino server with an external IMAP server?

Hi :

What I was trying to do is point you to a app that uses imap. May be that would help you…

I posted your question to another dB. . I received no answer today(1/28). ( update- no replies 1/30)

I bet you looked at the help - and that was no help.

If I get an answer, I will post it here.

( You may want to re post and this time I will not jump in. ( hoping someone on the Notes team can help )
