MIME image on incoming Mail

Hello there!

When I get HTML emails I can not see the image, I only get “placeholders” when I open the mail.

I have got the proxy settings in my location document and so I did a test on my “old” 5.0.10 client. There the images worked fine.

Does anybody know why it doesn´t work on 6.5 or 6.03?

I checked the forum and found no answer!

Any ideas? Thanks!

Subject: Solution: MIME image on incoming Mail

It seems like as if the location document was corrupt. Everythink workt with but only the proxy settings didn´t. I made some tests and found out that every location document which I migratet from notes 5 to notes 6 has got that problem.

really strange!

Thanks for your help!

Is that all MIME mails with in-line images or just a specific sample?

If the latter it is likely that the MIME is broken in some way and Notes can’t show you the images because it can’t find them, proxy or no proxy.

Typical reasons for this would include:

  • hard coded file:// locations for images where these should be http://

  • broken Content-ID (cid) tags (broken by some agent en route that scans for viruses or adds a disclaimer and disassembles/reassembles the MIME in do doing)

If you need more, let me have MIME source and I will take a look. Email address in profile or contact via here - http://chris-linfoot.net

Thanks for the response!

I have got the problem with all mails which include images from the web.

I don´t think that the location of the image is not correct because the same mail works fine with a notes 5.0.10 client and the images is loaded. I suppose the problem is with the notes 6 clients.

I seriously doubt that.

If I can see a sample of MIME that exhibits this behaviour, I may be able to help.
